Where The Live Wires Hang
Tasha Dreams
When little Tasha dreams
her mind rolls out the red carpet on the Hollywood scene
leaving behind hood-rats and dope fiends
trading in strip bars for chauffeurered cars
or better yet, chariots of fire…fueled by innocent’s desire
to fly …oh so far…away
where little girls and angels play…the roles
and leading ladies and gentlemen
bear their souls from deep within…
where only God knows the motives of men
and the hopes and dreams of sleeping children.
Duty Free
I’m on 24 hour duty.
Set apart for the Lord to use me
according to the written instruction
from the Lord and King
to mange everything in his house effectively.
Keep it all under lock and key.
So I wear it around my neck close to me.
More precious than any piece of jewelry,
the most wonderful gift ever given to me
is my royal family.
Tirelessly I guard my appointed post
helping my family achieve their hopes
and dreams.
Lord knows sometimes it gets challenging.
The constant bringing of the offerings to the temple.
for the that work is not simple.
It’s rather complex;
exhaustion at it best.
But I’ve learned to deal with the stress.
It’s my job to clean up the mess.
Someone’s got to do it .
and I’ve been chosen to bless.
all those who reside in my house.
Without a doubt,
temptation invites itself in
accompanied by our neighborly friend sin.
But I’ve got the clout to cast them out.
In quietness and confidence is my strength.
If it wasn’t for the power of God
I could not handle all of this.
But in the midst
of the confession
lives bliss,
love, joy, peace and happiness;
all worth protecting.
So I must spend my time detecting
anything that may intrude
on the spiritual mood
of the love I exude.
I won’t let it tax my spirit.
I strive to persevere with it,
by doing my duty, freely
and standing watch faithfully.

If I could wash away your pain
I’d cry with no refrain
I’d bathe you in healing tears,
til all your malaise disappeared
And before my well went dry,
I’d look to the Lord and cry
to refill me with his saving rain,
so I could keep washing away your pain.
Beloved I would cry for you.
I’d lay down my life if you needed me to.
It’s much more than a matter of sympathy.
It’s simply what you do when you love passionately.
